EVENTS @ the jetport

As a community service and a way to promote interst in aviation, RALEIGH EXEC and the Wings of Carolina Flying Club offer a number of special events at the jetport throughout the year. Here are some currently planned:

   
ongoing Aviation Field Trips
School, scouting or other community groups may visit throughout the year for educational field trips tailored to the needs of each group. Visits can include facility tours, a close-up look at aircraft and more. For information or reservations, contact the jetport manager at 919.776.2939.

Wings of Carolina Pizza Night and Safety Seminar
Bob Sutherlin offers an up-close look at the "Miracle on the Hudson," with an in-depth discussion of landing considerations and execution of this short, but memorable flight. The Sanford Chapter of the IMC Club holds its second meeting. The national organization promotes instrument flying, proficiency and safety, and meetings feature scenario-based discussions for IFR (instrument flight rules) pilots — those who are IFR rated, IFR students or anyone thinking about flying in the clouds. Aviation Medical Examiner Dr. James Fogartie Jr. offers 2nd and 3rd class medicals for pilots. Exams are $100 each, payable by cash or check, and scheduled every 20 minutes. Anyone is welcome to attend a monthly cookout providing an opportunity to meet Wings of Carolina Flying Club members, other local pilots and people interested in aviation. Toys for Tots Collection
Help make this Christmas a joyful season for less-fortunate children in our community! RALEIGH EXEC is participating in the annual Toys for Tots drive. Just drop off new, unwrapped toys at the terminal building; the collection box is available seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
